STORIES
Interesting things I've done
AGE 22
It's been one year working at Makers Inc. So far, I've completed many cool projects relating to programming, drawing and the company's internal operation. Most importantly, I made friends with my smart, supportive, and hard-working team. The image on the left was our camping trip in the last quarter of 2021.
AGE 21
It was a significant year for me. I started working as a Lead Developer at Makers Inc, making software, websites, workflow automation, video games, and AR demos! For the first half of the year (before I joined Makers). I participated in many online game jams and completed small video game projects (see my work section).
AGE 20
The picture is an open house I initiated at Lambton College. I presented Arduino, VR cardboards, and Unity3D game engine. Later I worked as a Javascript developer at the school's Applied Research department and built an API demo for a phone company; did a successful presentation in front of clients from the company.
AGE 19
During my study at Lambton College, I worked at the school's entrepreneurship office as a student researcher, taught 2 Blender 3D modelling workshops, delivered more than 10 classroom speeches, and hosted more than 5 booths. This is a group picture with my coworkers from the office.
AGE 19
These are my international students from India, Brazil, Romania, Canada, and France. I was teaching a Blender (3D modelling software) workshop, and everyone managed to render a realistic glass vase at the end of the workshop.

This is one of the booths I hosted with my Student Engagement team in the Lambton College CUBE entrepreneurship office. I'm explaining to the international students from India about how our services can help them start their own business.
AGE 19
This is one of the workshops I taught. All of the students were new to Blender, and I was teaching them to model and render a glass vase. Everyone ends up with some beautiful artworks, and we received almost 100% positive feedback on the workshop survey.
AGE 19
I participated in this international student forum discussing educations of each country, in which I represented China. Later we took a group picture in the school's gym. This picture is now in the Lambton College time capsule, which will open again in the year 2069.
AGE 19
This is me, volunteering on the 2018 Lambton College Fall orientation. I was signing up new students, introducing different school departments, managing the crowd, and making cotton candy. Volunteering is all about making new friends and having fun.
AGE 19
This is when I'm performing beatboxing at a Chinese new year in front of more than 200 audiences.
AGE 18
I was hosting the Lambton College Shanghai 2017 Christmas party on the stage with 3 other students. I was also singing Santa Clause is Coming to Town, played Ukulele, and acted in a mime show at the party.
AGE 18
I was giving a Lambton College opening ceremony speech. Although a lot of my original script was modified by the school's authority, I still talked about my experiences at Lambton College, my plans, and my wishes. I told everyone to keep trying new things, and how interests can be a good "teacher".
AGE 17
This is a screenshot from the Jiemian News documentary about homeschooling. In this picture, I'm sitting in Fablab-Shandong, talking about my entrepreneurship experiences, self-study methods, and my opinions on the Chinese education system. The text translates to Baichuan Han, Fablab-Shandong initiator, and the subtitle says I started homeschooling since grade seven.
AGE 17
In this news article published by Beijing News titled, Homeschool: The Educational Utopia of Chinese Families, I was talking about my ways of homeschooling. Since the beginning of 2017, I was active in the Chinese Homeschooling community, I helped homeschooling parents, gave online lectures, and interviewed by four Chinese mainstream news media.
AGE 17
I invited ten businesspeople, two news media, and four technological innovation projects to participate in my project sharing event. The four projects are a body-tracking & VR system, an agricultural monitoring system, a smart lock for bicycles, and a creative software development workflow.
AGE 16
I'm introducing Fablab concepts to students at Shandong University. After professor Zhang from Shandong University received the investment from Jinan local government for me as a legal representative, I created the inventory list, and we bought 3D printers, a 3D scanner, a laser cutter, four workstations; and electronics like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and sensor chips.
AGE 16
I was invited to deliver a speech at this entrepreneurship consultant company, introducing open-source software and hardware like Blender, GIMP, Mypaint, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. In the picture, I'm holding an Arduino microcontroller.

The Chinese translate to 1) Sigma makerspace of Shandong University. 2) Fablab Laboratory (in red). 3) Software implementation center of Shandong University. This sign is at the front door of the Fablab-Shandong, indicating the completion and success of my project.
AGE 15
I was giving a presentation in Shandong-University about my Fablab-Shandong project, which I want to build one of the first makerspace in the Shandong province. In late 2015, the Chinese government had new policies supporting young entrepreneurs, so it was a good time for me. Later, my project got 500,000 RMB (about 100,000 CAD) investment from the local government of Jinan.
AGE 15
This is one of the first presentations on my Fablab-Shandong project. We were in a coffee shop, and there were seven businesspeople carefully listening to my plan of building this laboratory.
